Whether you are a first time car owner, or you have owned a car for many years, you may not know some of the most important car parts on your car. Knowledge of all of these car parts allows you to get the best performance out of your car.
Common Car Parts and Terms
One of the most important car parts you may never have heard of is a mass airflow sensor. This sensor regulates the amount of air your engine takes in. While this sensor is only a small piece, it can lead to a choppy engine start, engines that stop for no reason, or engines that stall in idle. The sensor will be checked during your maintenance appointments.
Another car part you need to know about is your shock absorbers. Shock absorbers allow you to ride comfortably in your car, no matter how many potholes you run into. You will know if you need new shocks when your car bounces more than it should, and continues to bounce even when you have passed over the pothole. Your shocks will also be checked during your maintenance appointment as well.
You also need to know about your car muffler. Your car muffler does just that–it muffles the sound coming from your combustion engine. Without a working muffler, your car engine sounds huge and very choppy. You may also notice an exhaust smell in your car, which could be potentially dangerous. Your muffler may need to be replaced. Luckily, your muffler and exhaust system will be checked during a maintenance appointment.
